Engagement

Strategic Plan: Implemented Frederick’s first multi-year Strategic Plan, CommUnity 2030, with collaboration from residents and stakeholders across the city.
Inclusion: Welcomed thousands of justice advocates in support of Black Lives Matter, launched citywide diversity and equity conversations, and committed to addressing disparities in the City’s purchasing process.
Voting Access: Expanded ballot and ballot box access through election reforms, including mail-in, drop-off, and provisional voting options.

Opportunity​

Housing and Human Services: Created the first Department of Housing and Human Services to meet the varied needs of our community across all incomes.
Vacant Properties: Strengthened ordinances to bring owners of long-time vacant properties to higher standards for occupancy, while filling vacant properties on the Golden Mile (Warehouse Cinemas) and downtown (Common Market).
Culture Enhanced City support for community non-profits supporting arts, culture, youth, and seniors through our continuing collaboration with Celebrate Frederick, the Downtown Frederick Partnership, Visit Frederick, and many others.

Quality of Life​

Safety: Hired a new police chief to continue the progress that has driven Frederick's crime rate to a 20+ year low, and implemented co-responder models of intervention.
Shared Use: Expanded our shared use path system through bicycle and pedestrian enhancements, and implemented new safety and ADA improvements.
Transportation: Completed major roadway connections.
Bulk Trash: Restarted Bulk Goods collection on behalf of our residents and in a way that is sustainable and cost effective.

Resilience​

Business: Supported new, small, women, and minority-owned small businesses. Enhanced business development and new construction opportunities.

Sustainability​

Clean Water: Upgraded the wastewater treatment plant to meet the latest requirements, helping ensure the health of our rivers and streams.
Renewable Energy: Prioritized sustainabiliry with the commitment to the purchase of 100% of City electricity from renewable wind and solar.
Tree Canopy: Committed to increase the canopy through Tree Frederick, an innovative partnership to plant more street trees across the City.
